Questions people actually ask.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask it — start the conversation and we'll tell you whether we're the right people for it. If we aren't, we'll say so.
What does Signal Strategy Group do?
Signal Strategy Group diagnoses the whole revenue engine of a mid-market company — marketing, sales, product and support as one connected system. We find which signals are actually producing profit and help leadership cut the rest. We are a diagnostic firm, not an implementation agency.
Who is it for?
Companies where the next decision is a bigger one than usual, and you want an outside look before you make it. A sale or an exit coming into view. A big expansion you can't pressure-test. Growth that stalled and nobody can tell you exactly when. An acquisition that left you with two of everything. Usually the CEO already suspects where the problem is and can't prove it — which is the whole reason to bring somebody in. You can't read the label from inside the jar.
Who is it not for?
Pre-revenue and early-stage companies — there isn't enough machine yet to diagnose. Anyone looking to outsource execution. And anyone who wants a recommendation deck to consider later, because that isn't what this produces.
What is the Signal Path Framework?
Three connected lenses. Receiver is who actually gets it: what the customer values, why they stay, why they leave. Signal is what you actually are: product, pricing, unit economics, real competitive advantage. Transmission is how you compete: positioning, messaging, channels, sales incentives. You can't fix one without the other two.
What's in the Signal Packet?
P&L by product line, org chart, comp plans, and customer data. We study it before anyone gets on a plane — where margins diverge, where incentives pull against the strategy, where the story the data tells differs from the one the team tells itself. We come back with a hypothesis and the questions only your people can answer.
What actually happens in the two days?
We fly to you. No laptops, no phones. Your key decision-makers in a room with a large-format schematic of your current machine on the wall, built entirely from your own data. Day 1 is the reality check — the team sees what the numbers actually say. Day 2 is the reset — the team decides where to go next.
What do I leave with?
A Blueprint and an Executive Directive. The Blueprint is the machine as it will be; the Directive is what happens Monday, and who owns it. Instructions, not suggestions. Both are written in the room, by the people who have to execute them.
Do you hand over a strategy deck?
No. There is no 40-slide deck at the end of this. That's the part of consulting that doesn't work — a document nobody reads, describing decisions nobody made.
Do you work remotely?
The diagnosis happens remotely. The workshop does not. We fly to you, because the decisions that matter don't get made over video.
What does an engagement cost?
Engagements are scoped after a conversation, because the Signal Packet determines how much machine there is to read. What we can tell you before you ask: there's no retainer to start, no discovery fee, and the conversation itself is free. If we aren't the right people for it, we'll say so on that call rather than sell you something adjacent.
How long does the whole thing take?
Typically four to six weeks end to end: a week or two for the Signal Packet and our analysis, the two-day on-site, and a short window after to land the Directive. The optional Maintenance phase runs as long as it's useful.
What is the Signal Assessment?
A free 21-question self-diagnostic, about six or seven minutes. It fills in a working sheet as you answer and returns a named pattern rather than a score. We deliberately don't show you a number — a number invites you to improve the number instead of the business.
What is the Signal Sheet?
A free 11×17 working sheet: noise at the top, the three lenses across the middle, and what you're actually doing about it along the bottom. It's the same board we work on in the two-day on-site, minus us. There's also a 36×48 board sized for sticky notes.
Who is Andy High?
The founder and principal, and the author of Find Your Signal. Twenty years inside revenue operations across music, healthcare, personal finance, insurance, real estate and education — carrying the number at $10 million and at $100 million, and running teams north of a hundred people.
